How will the sculpture be sercured without causing permanent damage to the natural environment

To support the sculpture six (6) 45mm strong metal posts will be quickset concreted into the ground 600mm deep. Included in the dismount process is the removal of the concrete post foundations and fill of the holes and replacement of turf.

How easy is it to install and demount your sculpture?

The 3 panels of the sculpture will be assembled offsite and transported to the Strand ready to be concreted into the six (6) 600m deep holes. Dismount will include the removal of the panels, concrete and replacement of earth and turf.

What are the costs associated in the transport and installation/demount of your work?

It is anticipated that the transport, installation and dismount will cost approximately $300.

What are the potential health and safety aspects of your work? What issues may arise?

WHS practice will be observed at both the College and the installation/removal at the Strand. Lifting equipment will be used where necessary. Welding and construction will be completed in a workshop by qualified tradespeople. Safety equipment will be used in the making of this artwork.

Due to the tropical climate of Townsville, we tend to experience strong winds and rain, especially along The Strand, have you taken these environmental factors into consideration when planning your artwork?

Considerations of the environment have been fundamental to the design of this sculpture. Six (6) 45mm strong metal posts will be quickset concreted into the ground 600mm deep. The metal frame will support the woven recycled objects and materials. Small loops and twists of wire will reinforce the securing of attached objects.
